A domain enters the Ark when knowledge, practice, provenance, access, and the ability to teach it travel together.
Care with authority visible
Current public-health references, first-response pathways, medicine inventories, care networks, accessibility knowledge, and explicit professional and version boundaries.
Repair the material world
Drawings, tolerances, maintenance cycles, parts, measurement, water, shelter, energy, fabrication, and tested repair procedures.
Source that can wake again
Readable code, build instructions, dependencies, data formats, offline documentation, checksums, licenses, and restoration tests on clean machines.
Memory with provenance
Primary sources, testimony, competing accounts, dates, context, corrections, and the record of who had power to preserve or erase.

Vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, stories, names, signs, translation memory, teaching sequences, and living speakers with consent.

Select
Name the knowledge or capacity, the human need it serves, its source authority, its limits, and why loss would matter.
Distribute
Keep independent copies in different places, formats, and hands. Include printable and offline forms where possible.
Teach
Pair every archive object with a learning path and a person or community able to demonstrate the practice.
Restore
Recover a copy, rebuild the tool, follow the instructions, or teach the skill without relying on the original system.
Correct
Record failures, superseded guidance, contested claims, accessibility gaps, and the next review date. Never let an old copy masquerade as timeless truth.
Custody, permitted use, withdrawal, and representation refusal remain separate fields because preservation is not ownership. Keep exact private locations, credentials, vulnerable inventories, and personal medical data out of public copies.
The Ark refuses the old poison
A SEED IS KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICE, CULTURE, OR TOOL—NEVER A “PURIFIED” POPULATION.

The Ark unit
A COPY BECOMES CONTINUITY ONLY WHEN THE WHOLE CHAIN TRAVELS.
Every preserved unit must carry enough lineage, practice, and proof for a stranger to recover it without pretending the record is timeless.

Name what it is, the human need it serves, who or what authorizes the source, and why its loss matters.
Context and rights
Keep date, version, language, competing accounts, license, consent, custody, restrictions, and cultural context attached.
Carrier and copies
Name formats, tools, dependencies, accessible alternatives, independent copy roles, and how integrity will be checked.
Teacher and practice
Pair the object with a lesson, demonstration, or field guide that lets knowledge leave its first hands.
Restore test
Remove the original person, platform, place, or copy and record whether another custodian can recover and use it.
Correction and retirement
Propagate broken facts, expired guidance, disputes, replacement versions, and an honest end state to every known dependent copy.

Six ways a seed dies
PRESERVE AGAINST FORGETTING, NOT MERELY DELETION.

It cannot be opened
The format, tool, key, dependency, or medium disappeared with its original system.
It cannot be understood
Context, language, provenance, assumptions, or competing accounts were stripped away.
It cannot be practiced
No demonstration, teacher, accessible route, materials list, or bounded test survived.
It cannot be corrected
Expired or broken guidance continues circulating without lineage, review date, or supersession path.
It cannot be passed on
One owner, one expert, one location, or one permission still controls whether the seed moves.
